A chalkboard flower pot DIY tutorial
I always feel a bit sad for cutted flowers bunches. Even if some flowers bouquets are splendid, I generally prefer offering them in pot, so that love continues flourishing without fading. But it would be a pity to leave a plant chosen with love in an anonymous plastic pot, so I like to DIY my plants pots. And why not create a chalkboard flower pot, ready to be customised with a personal message?
Have a loook, it’s really simple to make:
Cake stand DIY with concrete base
& IKEA APTITLIG chopping board
I was looking at Welsh Ty Nant water bottle since long. Its curves remind me Ron Arad furniture design. I crave for cake stand but I have some trouble with its often girly aspect. My home is about concrete, black metal, wood and white, a very simple design. Why not create a concrete & wood cake stand ? Black concrete curves face bamboo angles in a sensual blend – and more important, it might be a fun DIY project.
DIY : a plant hanger with IKEA Heat trivet
To bring a bit of nature into your home when space is lacking, a plant hanger is ideal.
Do you remember the dreamcatcher I made with Virgile? I wanted to create my own plant hanger with natural and simple materials, and make a statement decor of it. Mixing wood, cork, cotton and wool in soft shades, it dress up an ordinary kitchen corner. Sunshine rays pass in the dreamcatcher while a lite breeze is enough to turn the cork mobile
Nevertheless, this plant hanger is 150 cm high but this DIY project can easily be reduced. It’s also possible to replace trapilho jersey by rope for a different effect.
bedroom makeover : BEFORE / AFTER
I spend at least 7 hours a day in my bedroom and if in the first years I adored this indian pink, it was now time to change – it was fading since too long. Materials were bought since last summer, so bedroom makeover was one of my decorative priorities when coming back of New Zealand. Beware, the result is dark.
I was a bit afraid of graphite grey on walls then, I saw Jordan of Ohhappyday bedroom and I forgot my prejudices. OK, I nevertheless thought a year and painted a single wall but intent remains.
A piece of furniture makeover – before & after
Last weekend, I redo my bedroom decoration, which didn’t changed since we move in, 8 years ago. Would you like to see final result in a next post ? Beware, it’s dark.
I kept all furniture and took advantage to update the ancient step stool which serves me as bedside table. Found abandoned in an attic, it follows me since long now and is just large enough to put essential stuffs on my side of the bed.
But its painting was peeling and it deserved some care. Painting leftover and scrap piece of Orla Kiely wallpaper projected it towards modernity. This is a simplest DIY to revamp an old-fashioned piece of furniture.
