For Easter, make a colored concrete egg
Sometimes, we imagine creative project, anticipate details and experimenting it, everything is fine. We figure we can be proud of result. And then, sometimes, experience is less positive. It was case this weekend. Basic idea worked but would be worth being improved. I wanted to make pastel shades Easter eggs to place into a foliage decor for the weekend to come. Result is – how to say – flashy? Heavy-handed pigments give a colored result and mortar isn’t prefectly adapted. I’ll try again !
But since molding method worked, I thought that you would however like to see this little DIY, wich at least prove that an egg shell can be of use as mould for concrete. I used some masonry mortar, as the one I used to make my garden concrete step but I will reattempt with some cement.

I did this DIY with Virgile, it’s an easy Easter activity for children.
Of course, cracking shells was his job.
Even if result isn’t as hoped, Virgile is delighted of his creation and we installed its Easter colored eggs with foliages centre of our dining table. Finally, the most important is that my little boy enjoy is creation, isn’t it ?
